The African continent is fascinating as it is enigmatic. Its vast historical, political, and social landscape forms a mosaic of ideas, thoughts, and practices. The image of Africa in the international sphere remains ambiguous focusing on the woes that plague its development and showcasing its richness to a limited extent. We Write Afrika is a platform for independent writers to share their ideas on African society, politics, culture, and general affairs.
Deborah Melom Ndjerareou is from the Republic of Chad and is the creator of We Write Afrika and lead writer. She is a humanitarian with global experience in Congo Brazzaville, Namibia, Niger, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Palestinian Territories, Somaliland, South Africa, and Chad. She previously worked in language teaching and freelance translation. She holds a bachelor’s in language studies from the University of Pretoria in South Africa and a master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the Open University of Catalonia in partnership with the United Nations Institute of Training and Research. She also holds a master’s in Creative Writing from the University of Hull in England and is currently a PhD student at EUCLID University. She has a passion for languages, traveling, and African affairs. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and her native language Ngambaye. Her writing focuses on African affairs, society, culture ,and politics.
Deborah Melom Ndjerareou est originaire de la République du Tchad et est la créatrice de We Write Afrika, dont elle est également la rédactrice principale. Humanitaire engagée, elle possède une expérience internationale en République du Congo, Namibie, Niger, République Démocratique du Congo (RDC), Territoires palestiniens, Somaliland, Afrique du Sud et Tchad.
Elle a précédemment travaillé dans l’enseignement des langues et en tant que traductrice indépendante. Elle est titulaire d’une licence en linguistique de l’Université de Pretoria en Afrique du Sud, ainsi que d’un master en Affaires internationales et diplomatie de l’Université ouverte de Catalogne, en partenariat avec l’Institut des Nations Unies pour la formation et la recherche (UNITAR). Elle détient aussi un master en écriture créative de l’Université de Hull, en Angleterre. Elle est actuellement doctorante en diplomacy à l’Université EUCLID. Deborah est une polyglotte, maîtrisant l’anglais, le français, l’espagnol ainsi que sa langue maternelle, le ngambaye. Ses écrits explorent la société, la culture et la politique africaine.
